The term “status quo” is often spoken with derision, and is frequently associated with stagnation, corruption and mediocrity. Human beings have a natural tendency toward discontent with their current circumstances; yet, is this contempt for the existing state of affairs always beneficial? Could our drive for something better be as much of a curse as a blessing?
