The most terrifying revelation any person can experience is the reality of his/her own existence. While in college I had the opportunity to take a class on famous works of literature which greatly impacted Western civilization. To understand the potency of betrayal, I think we first have to understand a thing or two about the nature of human intelligence and human relationships. As I set out to write this article I can’t escape the feeling that I’m poking a stick in a hornet’s nest; this is a very touchy subject where emotions run high for both the religiously devout and the atheist alike.
