I agree with you. Despite the very conservative
wing of the Republican party wanting somone like Romney. The Republicans have picked the best possible person to run. He appeals to moderates and independents which he needs as well as the conservative.
The Demoncrats have picked the worst candidate they could. A hard left liberal with ties to very contravercial people. Our country is center right and he is far left.
Whatever happens it's all part of GOD's plan

I disagree any such thing is clear. Although improbable and convoluted, McCain's comeback is more clearly the result of the personalities of the Republican candidates: Rudy G. was arrogant in dissing the smaller states; Fred T. refused to go through the inconvenience of traditional political campaigning; Ron P. stubbornly held true to his extreme libertarianism; Mike H. chose to play his one strong card as a Baptist. Thus only McCain and Romney tried to establish broad enough constituencies to win, but Huckabee's strategy, while impossibly too narrow to win the war, won him some southern and central states that Romney had to have to make him a credible national candidate, We will never know whether Huckabee chose his strategy more to run for the vice presidency or to frustrate Romney's campaign, but it could certainly have been for the latter. At any rate, as the end-game wound down, McCain openly cheered Huckabee on and was its greatest beneficiary, as Mitt eventually had to throw in the towel.

A shorter answer would be that history and experience amply demonstrate that God is blamed for much more than he deserves. McCain's Republican win is certainly fortuitous and surprising, but the result of divine intervention? I don't think so. The gathering of men to write the US Constitution was amazing. The US' survival and triumph over England in the Revolutionary War was miraculous. If McCain persuades the American people we should stay in Iraq up to 100 years, that may take a bigger miracle than them all.

Well, maybe. I won't aver either way right now as I cannot profess to know what the Almighty has in mind on things. I think the Democrats have been so negative since 2000 and the whole Gore thing, and even before that with the Clinton opposition research machine, that the negativity has bitten them and they have turned on themselves, like the line in Star Wars about fear and hate eating people up, causing them to destroy themselves. I won't judge though, it is just really intriguing and unbleievable to watch.

[...] Ultimately, I am satisfied by Senator Obama’s assertion that he does not share his former pastor’s offensive views. Given the absence of any clear evidence to the contrary (i.e. personal remarks made by the Senator himself) it is unfair to ascribe Pastor Wright’s inflammatory sermons with Obama’s personal beliefs. As far as I’m concerned, Barack’s recent comments regarding the attitudes of low-income workers in Pennsylvania and elsewhere are far more troubling than anything Pastor Wright has said. It’s startling to see how long this story has dragged on; between this and the voracious infighting between the Democratic candidates, it’s hard to escape the feeling that some unknown force in the universe is guiding John McCain to the White House.
I love your last sentence. Which one are you? A believer in McCain as Savior or the main character in Revelations?
